WATCH: ITV release first Big Brother 2026 trailer

ITV has officially begun the countdown to the new series of Big Brother by releasing its first trailer across the programme’s social media channels.

The 30-second teaser features a succession of eyes transforming into different shapes and scenes as the words “Big Brother is back” flash across the screen.

However, it is the cryptic message accompanying the visuals that has really caught our attention:

“But, if you think you know the game, think again. A new house every week. Fresh faces daily. Everything can change in the blink of an eye.”

The trailer appears to promise a series in which the familiar Big Brother format will be shaken up on a regular basis, with the house potentially undergoing a different transformation, theme or takeover each week.

The reference to “fresh faces daily” could also hint at a revolving door of visitors entering the house throughout the series.

Earlier this month, The Sun reported that former Celebrity Big Brother housemates could return as temporary residents or take part in specially designed tasks. Names reportedly being considered included Gemma Collins, Kerry Katona and JoJo Siwa, although none have been officially confirmed by ITV.

Could each “new house” therefore be built around a different theme or returning celebrity, with famous former housemates arriving to turn the game on its head? It would certainly fit with the trailer’s promise that everything can change “in the blink of an eye”.

Alternatively, the wording could point towards weekly changes to the house itself, with new rooms, environments or task settings being introduced as the series progresses.

The trailer also gives fans another look at this year’s striking new Big Brother eye, which features a realistic purple iris surrounded by layered images of human eyes. Throughout the teaser, it transforms into a triangle, a fiery red eye, a glowing golden ring, a waterfall and several distorted double-eye designs.

Whatever Big Brother has planned, ITV is clearly positioning this year’s series as one where neither the housemates nor viewers should become too comfortable.

Big Blagger understands that the new series will launch on Sunday 13 September and run for almost eight weeks, concluding with a live final on Thursday 5 November.

AJ Odudu and Will Best are expected to return as hosts, while Big Brother: Late & Live is reportedly being replaced by a new VODCAST-style companion show.
