With just 5 weeks to go until the hotly anticipated return of Big Brother, more details on the shows return after a 5 year hiatus is starting to emerge.
In an article today via The Sun, the tabloid claim that the upcoming live launch show will simulcast on both ITV1 & ITV2 – this will mark the first time in the shows history that it has received such a prominent slot.
An insider told The Sun: “ITV wanted to make sure the comeback landed with a bang so they will kick things off by giving it the most high-profile spot possible.
They’re hoping that a sensational start will hook the maximum number of viewers on the main channel, then bring them across to ITV2 for the rest of the series.”
The iconic live feed will also return (in a limited capacity), airing nightly on ITVX at 11pm for 2 hours.
It was also recently confirmed that the broadcaster had signed a two year deal for the series, with the show set to return for another outing in 2024.
AJ Odudu and Will Best were announced as hosts of the revived series back in April. The duo will share the hosting duties on the main show, where they’ll preside over the weekly evictions and quiz housemates on all of the goings on in the world’s most famous house, whilst also hosting an additional nightly live companion show debating all the hot topics inside the house.
Big Brother is coming to ITV2 & ITVX this October.
