Housemates take flight in this weeks shopping task
It’s a new day in the Big Brother House tonight, and the Housemates awake to find that the House has been transformed into an airport for this week’s high-flying shopping task. The group will be checking in as passengers and serving as crew as they take to the skies aboard British Eyeways Flight BB2025.
Cameron and Feyisola assume the roles of pilot and co-pilot, while Jenny and Sam soar into action as cabin crew. The remaining Housemates each take on a role of their own: Caroline, Richard and Zelah are on a stag do, Farida and Nancy are typical tourists, Elsa and Emily are returning backpackers, Tate and Teja are business travellers and Marcus is a single dad with baby Malachi.
Big Brother announces: “Passengers, your destination is a luxury shopping budget but only if you can successfully complete your journey – and that might not be as easy as it sounds. Every rule break will extend your flight time meaning a short smooth trip could quickly become a long-haul nightmare.” As part of the task, passengers and crew are not permitted to consume food or drink that isn’t assigned to them, and baggage must be kept with passengers at all times.
After check-in, Jenny and Sam must choose two passengers to be upgraded to first class before boarding begins. Once everyone is seated, Big Brother adds: “To pass today’s shopping task all airline crew and passengers must endure the full duration of the flight. It will be up to you to decide when the flight is over by collectively clapping for a landing.” With multiple rule breaks already extending the flight time, can the Housemates endure the journey long enough to secure a luxury shopping budget?
Things soon get bumpy when Farida’s sharp tongue lands her in hot water with Nancy. While enjoying her dessert in first class, Nancy is left unimpressed when Farida remarks, “Enjoy your last meal.” Nancy quickly fires back, “Anyone else saying that, alright. You saying it, I don’t fing care. You’re up next.” Later, she recounts the exchange to Sam and Tate, explaining, “I was eating my first class food as I fing should after I’ve had two horrible weeks. And then Farida goes ‘enjoy your last meal’ so I was like ‘Who are you talking to? Don’t worry you’re going to be up next.’ After I said that she didn’t talk to me the rest of the flight.” Farida later approaches Nancy to talk things through – but will Nancy be ready to make amends?
Elsewhere, Caroline’s playful antics during the flight cause another moment of tension. When she starts throwing beer at Tate, Zelah steps in after some splashes reach Farida, saying, “Wait guys, careful.” Later, she pulls Caroline aside to explain, “When you chucked it at Tate, a bit went on her. I looked at her and went ‘are you ok?’ and she went ‘no, it’s fine.’” Caroline brushes it off, saying, “She’s cool. It’s not my fault that her face was there. I can’t live my life not being able to play because someone doesn’t like it.” Zelah replies, “To be fair she was fine with it -it was actually me who was like ‘are you alright?’” Caroline hits back, “Well, you should stop doing that then.” Zelah stands her ground, saying, “Hey! I like to check in with people.” The pair exchange words before Farida joins the conversation – but will they be able to clear the air, or will this flight end in turbulence?
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
