Housemates Have The Perfect Day – Over and Over and Over Again

It’s Groundhog Day in the Big Brother House tonight as Housemates are forced to relive the same day again and again in their latest shopping task, aptly titled ‘The Perfect Day’.

The task begins with ‘The Perfect Wake Up’. Woken by a chorus of alarm clocks hidden all over the House, the Housemates have just two minutes to find all ten before the day resets. Fail, and it’s straight back to bed to start over.

Gathering everyone at the sofas, Big Brother announces, “Today is no ordinary day. Because for this week’s shopping task, everything you do must be done perfectly. Across the day, you will face a series of tasks and Big Brother expects perfection. One mistake, one wrong move or one imperfect moment and the Perfect Day will reset. You’ll be sent straight back to bed, and you’ll start again from the beginning.”

Caroline quickly sums up the mood, saying, “It’s Groundhog Day.”

The Housemates fail their first attempt almost immediately, forcing them to crawl back under the covers to try again. As they do, Richard says, “Why do I suspect that we’re gonna be spending a lot of time in here today,” as laughter breaks out around the room.

As the day wears on, the task becomes more punishing. Each time the group slips up, Big Brother resets the clock and sends them back to square one. Tempers flare, patience wears thin, and the idea of ‘The Perfect Day’ starts to feel anything but perfect. The pressure is on for the Housemates to perform flawlessly if they want to win a luxury shopping budget – but with so many chances to make mistakes, success feels a long way off.

Later, Big Brother adds an even tougher twist – ‘The Perfect Nominations’.

Gathering the Housemates once more, Big Brother explains, “It wouldn’t be ‘The Perfect Day’ without ‘The Perfect Nominations’. Shortly, a seven-minute timer will begin. Each of you must go to the Diary Room, nominate two people and give the reasons for these nominations. These nominations will count towards this week’s eviction, so think carefully. If you fail the task, ‘The Perfect Day’ will start again from the very beginning.”

Housemates sprint to the Diary Room to make their nominations before the clock runs out. Caroline nominates Jenny “because she’s just changed dramatically towards me and I don’t think she’s my friend anymore.” Elsa nominates Caroline, saying, “She’s been extra rude since Sam left and says things that hurt people’s feelings all the time.” Emily nominates Teja “because she celebrated in front of Nancy who was crying because Sam left,” while Jenny nominates Caroline “because of the whole Richard thing — she’s now started to like him because of the boos,” and Nancy “because she said she feels that I don’t like her and it’s actually a projection of how she feels about me.”

After restarting their day for the ninth time, the Housemates finally manage to complete the nominations successfully. Big Brother gathers them in the Living Area and says, “Big Brother can now reveal that the Housemates facing this week’s eviction are…”

Who will face the public vote this week? Tune in tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX to find out which three Housemates are up for eviction ahead of Friday’s live double eviction.
