Emily and Farida return to the Big Brother house

Big Brother has confirmed that the familiar faces which are set to make a dramatic return during tonight’s live show.

Emily, who was evicted on launch night of the current series, will step back inside the Big Brother House, and she won’t be alone. She’ll be joined by Farida, the very first evictee from ITV’s 2023 Big Brother revival. Together, the pair are being given another shot at the ultimate social experiment, in what Big Brother is calling a second chance for two Housemates who “left too soon.”

As previously revealed, tonight’s eviction will actually be a fake eviction. Unbeknown to the Housemates, either Nancy or Sam will move into a secret room alongside Emily and Farida, setting the stage for one of the most explosive twists yet.

Voting for the fake eviction is open now, with viewers asked to decide who should enter the secret room. Who goes in? You decide.

Catch all the action live tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

EMILY: “I want to go in there and cause a bit of a storm!”

Speaking ahead of her return, Emily said she’s relishing the chance to show a different side to herself:

“Number one, I think the meltdown online will be funny. People keep saying ‘we hope it’s not Emily’. Well surprise, it is! Second of all, I feel like nobody actually got to know the real me — they just saw me as a Tory villain. Now they’ll actually get to see Emily rather than Tory Emily. I want to go in there and cause a bit of a storm!”

Reflecting on the current series, Emily added:

“It’s been good, but I feel like quite a few people in there have too many of the same opinions — it’s a bit too cliquey for my liking.”

As for who she’s keen to team up with, Emily has her eye on Caroline and Tate:

“Caroline feels alone in there, and I think she needs someone else who’s fiery but fair. Tate’s personality isn’t really coming across on screen, but he’s got great energy — maybe I can help bring that out.”

And what’s her ultimate goal this time?

“I’m desperate to do a task — they seem hilarious! And a glass of rosé in the hot tub wouldn’t go amiss either.”

FARIDA: “I’m doing it for the fans!”

Meanwhile, Farida says she jumped at the opportunity to return to the House:

“I think it’s a fantastic choice. I put so much into the process the first time, but didn’t feel fulfilled — I was only in there a few days. The most important thing is the audience has wanted this for so long. Even during Celebrity Big Brother, there were rumours I was going back in. You’ve got to listen to your fans. I’m doing it for them.”

Farida hasn’t been overly impressed with this year’s Housemates so far:

“I watched the launch and wasn’t that impressed with the cast. They aren’t the most exciting; there’s nobody that really shines for me. I was hoping Richard would be a lot different than he is. I feel like we need someone to go in there and get the better side of him out — that could be me.”

She admits she’s unsure how she’ll gel with Caroline, but insists she’ll always speak her mind:

“I might have problems with Caroline. She’s an older woman that’s desperate to win. I don’t like what’s gone on recently with Jenny — being called fake isn’t nice. That might impact how I challenge people in there.”

Farida says she’s going in with no set plan:

“I don’t have a strategy. I’m just going to be me. But I think they might see me as a threat — because I’m confident, and I can’t help it. If I see something that’s not right, I’ll voice my opinion. I believe in justice.”

As for what she’s most excited about?

“I’d love to do the tasks this time around. I didn’t get that chance before. It’ll be nice to dress up, have fun and give the House the shake-up it needs.”

Emily and Farida return to the Big Brother House tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX — but only one of Nancy or Sam will join them in the secret room.
