It’s Time To Nominate – And for Tate, It’s Face to Face
It’s nomination time once again in the Big Brother House, and this week, the pressure is on as Tate is forced to make his nominations face-to-face.
Big Brother gathers the Housemates in the Living Area and announces, “Housemates, it’s time for you to nominate. Caroline, you are immune and cannot be nominated. Tate, you will make your nominations face-to-face.” The revelation is met with nervous laughter, with Tate turning to Marcus and saying, “Cheers mate,” a nod to the punishment Marcus landed him with during yesterday’s EyeDeal Mini Mart task.
As nominations begin, tensions rise. Sam admits, “God I’m really struggling on the second one,” while Nancy confidently replies, “I’m not. You’ve got this.” Sam laughs, “I’ve got this, I just don’t know what I’ve got.”
In the Diary Room, Caroline names Feyisola as her second nomination, explaining, “I think she is the head of the house; she has her disciples… she’s very much in control of everything here, I think…” Teja also faces a dilemma before settling on Nancy, saying, “I really went between two people because there was a situation that unfolded, but the person I’m swaying towards is Nancy… I don’t think she’s telling the truth about why she thinks she’s disingenuous and doesn’t trust her.”
Elsa chooses Sam, recalling a moment that left her feeling uncomfortable. “My first nomination is Sam and that’s because of the code talking,” she says. “I was really shocked because I asked about my code name as well and it was elephant, and it was sort of like, ‘oh ya well we picked elephant because no-one would think you’re an elephant because you’re so tiny’… that’s a bit sly. It’s like being in school again.”
Meanwhile, Sam struggles to make his decision in the Diary Room, telling Big Brother, “God this is hard Big Brother, this is really really hard. I don’t know who I’m going to go for this second one at all. I’m really stuck whether to go for Zelah or Teja…”
Finally, Tate steps up for his daunting face-to-face nominations. “Ah mate, this is brutal,” he admits, before naming Teja. His reasoning doesn’t go down well, and his comment about her age sparks conversation elsewhere in the house.
Later, Teja and Elsa retreat to the Snug to unpack Tate’s remarks. Elsa asks, “Did you feel like that comment was a bit, what’s the word… patronising? Saying you are 18.” Teja agrees, saying, “Yeah, cause he said, ‘oh I hate to say it cause she’s young and we all…’ and the thing is, just say you didn’t like the way I spoke to your friend. ‘Cause it was rude but I intended it to be rude, that’s why I said it. And it’s got nothing to do with my age… the reasons he said were invalid. However he does have valid reasons in the back of his head… Just tell the truth, I just don’t get it.”
With emotions running high and more than a few bruised egos, it remains to be seen who will face this weeks fake eviction in Friday night’s live show.
