Why did you apply to be on this series of Big Brother?
I like trying everything in the world. I feel like I want to give everything a go. This was another opportunity where I thought ‘you only live once’ and I can be one of the few people who’ve said that I’ve done Big Brother. I’m only young and it’s one of those experiences I can look back on and tell my kids, my grandkids what I’ve done. If I don’t make it to the end then that’s alright with me.
What do you think you’ll bring to the house?
I describe myself as a very energetic, always lively person – I hate silence! I feel like I’m very good at communicating with people. I’m a good people person and I know how to speak to different people whether they’re from a different background to me, different character – even if we have next to nothing in common, I still feel like I could have a conversation with someone. I think I’m going to be the mediator but also with my age and the way I act, people are going to see me as that giddy, young person. I think I’m going to add a whole lot of things!
What are you looking forward to most about being a housemate?
The whole experience. I like being in control and this is one of the first times where I’m not going to be in control of what’s going on. Navigating an area I’m unaware of is going to be a whole new experience for me. It’s very exciting!
Do you have a strategy for making it to the final?
Everyone is going to go on to the show thinking they’re just here for the experience but I feel like that’s a lie. You would not be going on the show if you didn’t think about the prize pot and about being the winner of Big Brother. I think it’s important to try and have those connections but I believe a lot of them can be quite fake but that’s important in the show – play the game, play the environment. Going in there with a plan wouldn’t be the best idea because that’s going to change every day.
What are you most likely to get nominated for?
One of my bad traits is that I speak a lot. I do a lot of talking without thinking. In myself I never get offended, you can say anything about me – I’ve already heard it before. Obviously I look a lot different to everyone else and that’s alright with me. If they say something about me then I can say something about them whereas I don’t think everyone is comfortable with that!
Tell us one thing about yourself you think will surprise people the most.
I think I’m quite a smart feller. I know a lot of things about different and weird subjects. I’m a really good communicator in that I think I can make people feel a certain way, not manipulate them but to get what I want out of the conversation.
Who would be your dream celebrity to live with?
Gemma Owen – absolute worldie!
What would you do with the money if you won?
I don’t know yet. I’m 20 years old – if a £100,000 landed in my bank account, there are a million things that come into my head! I’ve been looking into getting a house, thinking about upgrading my car but I also want to explore a lot of things.
